INTAN JAYA - Soldiers of the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, operating under the HABEMA Operational Command, brought a message of peace and solidarity to Mamba Village in Sugapa District, Central Papua Province. On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the 509 Task Force conducted a Social Communication (Komsos) activity, building trust and addressing the needs of the local community while carrying out security operations in the area.
Guided by their commander, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, the soldiers focused on fostering meaningful connections with the residents and understanding their daily challenges. “Our mission extends beyond ensuring security; it’s about being present for the community, understanding their needs, and contributing positively to their lives, ” stated Lt. Col. Setyadi.
During the activity, the soldiers shared updates on regional security while providing a platform for the villagers to voice their concerns and aspirations. Mr. Simon, a respected community leader, expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “The presence of TNI soldiers in our village has brought a sense of calm. They not only protect us but also care for our well-being. We feel safe and valued.”
The event highlighted the Task Force’s commitment to inclusive social engagement as part of a broader strategy to promote stability and development in Papua. “The initiative by Satgas Yonif 509 exemplifies TNI’s dedication to fostering harmony and supporting Papua’s progress.
