NDUGA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Friday, 4 October 2024, residents of the Kemali Village, Kenyam District, with the 503 Soldiers, implemented the results of Social Communication with Community Figures of the Kemali Village along with the Leader and Staff of the Kenyam Indonesian Pentecost Church, to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a church building using the knockdown system.
In his emphasis on the Soldiers, the Commander of the 503 Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces' attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. Therefore, since the beginning of their tasks in Papua, an appointed Officer, Captain Bangun, has conducted Social Communication with the Kemali Village Community Figures and the Leader and Staff of the Kenyam Indonesian Pentecost Church about the church building construction plan using a knockdown system. The active participation and agreement of the community in this plan, including the decision to lay the first stone for the construction of the church on land belonging to the Kenyam Indonesian Pentecost Church, underscores their sense of ownership and responsibility in this development.
After the preparations were completed, the Soldiers and the residents were ready to carry out the groundbreaking ceremony. All residents and Soldiers were enthusiastic about carrying out the event, which involved the role of the Kemali community and TNI Soldiers on duty in Papua. After the activity, Mr. Isak Murib, Reverend of the Kenyam Indonesian Pentecost Church, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Commander 503, for laying the first stone of church development. God bless".
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 503 Task Forces’ initiative in collaboration with the Kemali Village residents to lay the first stone for constructing the Kenyam Indonesian Pentecost Church. His words: "The 503 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to provide the community’s basic need to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development. It instills profound hope and optimism about their potential to shape the region's future positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts.
